With experience in publishing and education, Lauren is committed to making her community a better place. After receiving her bachelor’s in Mass Communication from Towson University, she began her publishing career in New York in the advertising sales department of the nation’s third-largest weekly magazine. In this role, Lauren supported the advertising managers, compiled weekly advertising schedules, coordinated clients’ materials with production and assisted subscribers with customer service issues.
Lauren became an advertising account executive for one of the world’s leading special-interest publishers, representing over 60 magazine titles. She built relationships with advertising clients and monitored their ad campaign schedules.
Although Lauren found her career in advertising fulfilling, she longed to make a change that would positively affect her community. Lauren was raised in the Hudson Valley by two seasoned educators who exemplified the positive impact of teachers. This inspired her to attain a master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport. Lauren worked with children of all abilities from kindergarten through fifth grade and was dedicated to creating a positive learning environment for her students.
Lauren is proud of her Hudson Valley hometown and was excited when the opportunity arose to highlight its positivity within the pages of East Fishkill Living magazine. Lauren enjoys gathering relevant community news, compiling a monthly events calendar and interviewing locals for neighborhood interest stories.
In her free time, Lauren likes crafting, walking on the Dutchess Rail Trail and doing yoga. When her busy family has time to get away, they escape to New Jersey’s beautiful beaches.
